Salvation:  Simple as ABC...

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and you believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Since we are totally depending on God for help with our problem, we must take the necessary action that He desires for us.  Actually, it is really more of a decision expressed in a prayer than it is a particular action.  That we pray with genuine honesty and sincerity is all He asks.  To confess Jesus as Lord is to surrender your will and life over to His will.  You are saying that you are ready for Him to be your new Leader in life and that nothing in your life is exempt from His direction.  To say that you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead is to say that you know that He alone has the power to help you and He will if we will do our part.  You could pray a prayer like this...

God, I am broken before you.  My life and the person I have become are the result of my decision to run my life my way.  And I have failed.  Most of all, I have failed You.  I believe that you can and will help me.  The love you showed by sending your Son to die for my sins and the power of Jesus' resurrection now saves me and makes me one of Your children.  I receive Jesus into my heart, and I give you all of me, good and bad.  Take my life and do with me as You will.  Only give me the grace to follow You as my new Leader.  Thank you.  In Jesus' name  I pray.  Amen.

If you have prayed that prayer with honesty and sincerity then you can be assured of this promise:  "To as many as received Him (Jesus), to those who believed in His name, to them He gave the right to become children of God"  (John 1:12).  Welcome to the Family of God!  Now, you'll want to take the next step and make what God has done in private known to others, beginning with His other children- the Church.  Next Step
