Salvation: Simple as ABC...
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8).
The solution to our problem is not more quick-fix answers, another how-to book, fad diets, or therapy sessions (though a good therapist will help point you to the real solution). What we have discovered is that where no human help can solve our deepest needs, God can and will if we will seek Him out. When we have truly come to the end of ourselves and exhausted our resources, we find that God is present. He offers His help freely. It is a gift to us that He would respond to our faith in Him. What is faith?
Faith is that deep conviction in our hearts in God- that He loves us without condition and that He can help us without limits. And if we will do what He asks of us to do, then He will free us from the bonds of our shame and guilt as well as put the pieces of our broken lives back together again. New purpose and meaning will flow out of us and we will find that we are losing our fears and resentments and jealousies. The hurts, habits, and hang-ups begin to lose their power over us. God provides all of this through His Son Jesus who died on a cross for us, taking our place in punishment and receiving our death in our stead. Jesus offered up himself to save us completely.
